Mikie has a plan to address rapidly rising energy costs. From immediately identifying and streamlining approvals to fast-track low-cost, in-state clean energy investments and innovations to come online to growing what our state government is doing to host solar projects and support residents in their adoption of clean energy solutions, Mikie is ready to take on the tough fight to save us money on energy costs.
New Jersey has seen the second largest housing stock decline in the country since 2019 with costs of available housing skyrocketing. We need to make sure our families can afford to continue living here and Mikie will identify ways to incentivize strategic development and redevelopment of new housing, streamline permitting and approval processes to build (with union labor!) a range of housing options for all New Jersey residents and strengthen first-time homebuyer assistance programs to make sure our kids and their families can afford to live here.
Costs of basic everyday items, like groceries, continue to rise. New Jerseyans shouldn’t have to pay premium prices for our basic needs. Mikie will not only fight big corporations who continue to pick our pockets just to enrich themselves, she will develop programs to support local small food retailers and markets, as well as support farmers and local food growers to make sure we can feed our families without emptying our wallets.
Not only are infrastructure improvements critically necessary to keep New Jersey safe for our families and visitors, Mikie knows that every one dollar spent on infrastructure equals five dollars in economic activity. Our members are paid to do that work and we reinvest that money by raising our families and living our lives here in New Jersey. Investment in our brothers and sisters is investment in our state.
LiUNA builds New Jersey and as Governor, Mikie has vowed to continue to fight for investments in infrastructure that put us to work. In Congress, she has been a tireless advocate for the Gateway Tunnel, a project that employs our members.
Mikie’s staunch support for the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law brought billions of our federal tax dollars back to New Jersey to repair our depleted roads and bridges and she will continue to make those investments to keep our roads safe and our members at work.
