Shama Haider

- Asw. Haider was active in her hometown community of Tenafly prior to her election to the legislature in 2021. She served two terms on her local Borough Council and was active in numerous county and local community organizations.
- During her tenure in the Assembly, she has advanced legislation to help our families as Chair of the Assembly Children, Families, and Food Security Committee.
- Immediately upon her emigration from Pakistan to New Jersey in the late 1970’s, Asw. Hader initiated a successful career fundraising for non-profits and works for a non-profit organization that funds arts programs in schools, serving more than 300,000 children.
